Gingrich: Trump should put Schumer, Pelosi on TV every week

Former Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) suggested in a new interview that President Trump pay Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) to make weekly addresses, calling them ineffective messengers for the Democratic Party.

In an interview Saturday with AM 970's "The Answer" in New York, Gingrich claimed that Schumer was refusing to work with Trump out of fear of left-wing elements in the Democratic Party, whom Gingrich said did not want to compromise with Republicans.

"[Schumer] and Pelosi were so bad the other night that the president ought to sort of pay them to go on TV once a week," Gingrich said. "Because if that's the future of the Democratic Party, [then] it's going to be a very long election for the Democrats in 2020."

3. Gingrich just wants some media attention for himself.

Gingrich is in awe of how Trump manipulates the media and commands air time. Trump calls someone a name, and the media devotes a panel discussion to it, while the destruction of the government and country proceeds as planned.
