Now that they're in the minority, House Republicans can no longer shield Trump from real oversight.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), a man accused of turning a blind eye to students getting molested, is now outraged at the idea of Democrats investigating Trump’s alleged criminal activity.

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), chair of the powerful House Committee on Oversight and Reform, announced earlier this week that Michael Cohen, Trump’s longtime lawyer and “fixer,” will testify publicly before the committee on Feb. 7.
..........................................

Jordan, a co-founder of the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus and a longtime Trump lackey, was apoplectic that Democrats would dare to do their constitutional duty by conducting oversight of Trump and investigating his potential crimes.

Jordan claimed in a statement that Cummings “will be using the committee as a venue for political theater rather than legitimate oversight.”

He refused to elaborate on why Trump’s alleged criminal activity is not a “legitimate” line of congressional investigation...........

The citizens of our nation had better come to the realization that the greatest threat to our constitutional government is not the Russians or the Chinese, but the Republican Party. The Republican Party is under the domination of a coalition comprised of the most extreme cliques. This is comprised of the oligarchs who are solely driven by greed, the radically fanatical religious right wing factions who are determined to transform their religious beliefs into law and not lastly the diehard racists who the Republicans have provided with authenticity and empowerment.

The oligarchs only view the religious extremists and racists as useful idiots in their quest for the formation of a authoritarian government that they can control. They will be conveniently discarded when their usefulness is no longer tolerated. The majority of the people, drowning in apathy, are ceding control over their existence without a whimper of protest. Will they awaken in time or not is the question.

Does not mean that a legitimate investigation based on reams of evidence, including information already available to the public, should not proceed.

Perhaps it's time to realize, Jim, that most Americans aren't as stupid as your FOX news fanboys.

because they themselves are lying grifters, racists, and every other degenerate characteristic. But to actually admit that their leader and party is a criminal enterprise, and that they are neo-Fascists, who would militarily wipe out any resistance -- well they just can't admit that. The Jim Jordans hitched their wagons to the GOP as a means to enrich themselves. They will do and say anything to keep the money rolling their way. It's perfectly OK to keep people enslaved in debt and low wages, trash the environment, privatize every Fed service and sell it to themselves and their cronies.

I need to calm myself down. In thinking about Jim Jordan, I can feel my emotions of anger and aversion rising.

Who are involved with taking any money funneled to them and their campaigns from putin should be very nervous now. They with trump and many others are facing being publicly exposed for ALL their crimes , and organized conspiracy with putin against our country. Cohen may or may not exposed them at his hearing , but it will be coming out soon, and that's why they are scared to death now they'll be held fully accountable, and they will be. Cohen will just be the begining of the end for many in Congress, trump , and the republican party which is currently being destroyed by putin and trump. They have lost any chance of holding onto the Senate and the Presidency in 2020. The longer they refuse to open the government , the greater number of republicans will lose in 2020. They didn't learn anything from what happened to them from the Mid Terms.
