Assuming arguendo,*45 is guilty of espionage, obstruction etc; what punishment would fit the crime?

I’m opposed to the death penalty as a matter of principle. Not to rush to judgement, but a life sentence seems appropriate.

... (as in, money laundering, fraud, etc.) to be served CONSECUTIVELY, not concurrently.

For the money laundering, fraud, violation of emoluments clause, etc., there should also be asset forfeiture.

Keeping in mind he's 70, "broke and in jail for the rest of his life" is just about right.

restitutionally,

Not treason. So those who argue this is not treason because we are not at war...espionage may also carry the death penalty.

Personally, I'm of the opinion that even voting Rethug is an act of treason, but I can't see executing everyone who did.

Officeholders, on the other hand... I might consider.

(As are UDay and Qusay and Princess Daughter Dearest and hubby, Jared) that all of them should spend the rest of their lives in some kind of prison. With big beautiful walls! 😉 tRumpolini should die in prison and never walk free again. The kids, along with a bunch of their comrades in crime, need to know what loss of freedom feels like. Loss of privilege. It will be a swift, unpleasant fall for all of them, but richly deserved.

And the people rejoiced across the land and dancing in the streets commenced upon hearing the fate of the band of thugs and thieves. 💃🕺🏼💃🕺🏼💃🕺🏼💃

Chopping his head off or shooting him for treason would be great but too easy on him. I want him to suffer. Now this is the part where my imagination really takes off. I want him to suffer excruciating pain in every cell in his fat body until he dies. Oh, and I want him to live a really long life so he can suffer longer. People have already died due to him therefore he indirectly has killed people and that is worth at least a few years in prison (children at the border, Puerto Ricans who didn't get relief in time, etc).

I've heard that bandied about, although all agree Trump would not go for it.

I'm thoroughly sick of this 'all is forgiven once you're out of power' nonsense. If anyone must suffer consequences, it is Trump.

He was placed in the office by the Russians, he has given them American secrets, and he has acted on their behalf in all of his foreign policy decisions.

It really doesn't get any worse than that.

Seize assets, try and convict, execute per the statute.

We don't negotiate with terrorists, and we show no mercy to those who would willfully subvert our republic for personal gain at the expense of the American people.

This goes not only for Trump and his family, but each and every participant in this VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY. All must be punished to the maximum extent permitted under the law as a warning to future generations. Otherwise, we are simply a caricature of what we purport to be.

I want him to get the worst punishment possible, and that is to spend what's left of his miserable fucking life in a tiny cell in ADX Florence, or in some NY State Prison. I want him to spend those days knowing that his three oldest spawn are also in prison, and that every last penny of their assets have been confiscated and sold off to pay for the money he has wasted over the past two years.

But, I also hate that precious resources will be wasted on keeping him alive, so I would not cry if he met the same fate as Mussolini Instead of hanging his and his brats' corpses from the nearest bridge, dangle them from the Statue of Liberty's torch.
