Your husband's theory shouldn't be ruled out, but Trump has no property in Russia(afawk), and Putin already pwns Trump. I kinda think suicide is more likely if Trump feels his freedom will be restricted further than it already is. He's dropping hints about not being happy to be cooped up in the White House lately.

Then he would be admitting that he is a Russian agent.

If he is identified as an agent of Russia, and proven to be, then he defects to avoid USA justice, one can only say (and I hope it does not come to that) .... there are drones that can track him until we can return him home to face justice.

But a bigger question to me is this...... what do we do to Russia???? This cannot go unpunished.

It would need to be somewhere from which the US cannot extradite and to which he could quickly move his money.

Russia meets that requirement and a dacha near Sochi would be comfortable enough. But he would have to be concerned that Putin would find him an embarrassing and he could have an "accident."

Trump has made himself so unpopular in the world, that all the possible countries I can imagine are real shit holes.

23. Well...Only if he can't get a Pardon deal....but even then...
Sun Jan 13, 2019, 01:26 AM
Jan 2019

....imagine this.

"Trump leave the White House under cover and without the Secret Service to Reagan National. His personal plane, not Air Force 1, with Trump emblazoned on the side of it is fueled and ready to Taxi and the airport is under orders to let this plane ahead of the line as a matter of national security, holding a VIP from un-named country aboard. It takes off...to Russia, not to Moscow, but a remote airfield near Moscow.

Trump then requests asylum. Putin, smiles. Another gift landing right into his lap. If he accepts, he could say that the legitimate Executive of the USA was ran out and the USA is now under a corrupt government. This gives him more clout with Ukraine...but how much...probably not much...and not worth the trouble....no matter how much of a black eye the USA receives. But its option 1.

He could refuse, have his jet refueled and tell him to get the fuck out of here. Trump could return to the USA and under cloak and dagger, act like it never happened. No gain there...but that's option 2.

Like option 2, however, Trump is in such deep shit, he can't go back. So he runs to a different country that does take him. Putin can then say, he sought asylum...and refused. Giving him some cred in the world stage. That's option 3.

The next option, accept his asylum...tentatively and under secrecy. Then when everyone is asking where he is, sends out a message via back channels that they have Trump under house arrest when he entered Russia illegally. Cut a deal to get some sanctions removed and Putin extradites Trump back to the US. That's option 4.

Are there more options? Fairly sure. But, again, this is dependent on Trump getting a pardon. But if you ask me, he'll get it. Because whoever is next in line will be briefed on the possible embarrassing options to the country...and will weigh the risks of just getting him out of the way vs. another national embarrassment.

I do too. I really believe he was the recipient of a $1Billion commission on Putin's sale of 19% of Rosneft. All the drama that surrounds him serves one purpose, namely to stall, while the tRump organization stiffs suppliers and offshores cash flow. Who knows, he could have $2Billion socked away overseas. Then, he walks into Mueller's office. Mueller says the Secret Service will look the other way if the family leaves peaceably.

understanding to what extent he's actually been an agent for Russia. Which he, I am sure, does not believe at all. He thinks that everything he's done has been his own idea, and because he knows very little about anything, has no clue where those ideas came from. If he's very, very lucky, he will be allowed to leave the White House and live in whatever properties he currently owns. Like Richard Nixon, he'll live in this country, but unlike Richard Nixon (who I thought should have died in prison) he will not be rehabilitated.

and for all practical purposes, he is in the custody of the Secret Service now. I don't see how he has the means or opportunity to defect, even if he has a motive to do so. Especially since Trump is world-class incompetent and cannot do anything for himself, he'd be relying on other people to arrange his travel -- which amplifies the opportunities for those who would stop him to learn what he's up to and intervene.

Also, once he's no longer POTUS, he does Putin more good (remember Putin's goal is strife within the US to weaken us in general an distract us from our egagement with the rest of the world) by being charged, tried, and convicted than he does being a Snowden-style defector. So Putin has no incentive to accept Trump as a defector.
