Little clue: Elijah Cummings, chairman of House Oversight, said Mueller cleared Michael Cohen to testify before his panel. “He cleared it.”

What a crock of shit.

First off, Cohen is not "refusing to testify in Stormy's case". The ONLY thing docketed in the contract case are cross motions to dismiss that case, which the court requested.

That case is set for hearing on January 22 on the motion to dismiss. In a nutshell, the motion to dismiss is premised on the fact that the defendants have already conceded that the contract is not valid or enforceable, which was what the case was about in the first place. There are no damages on the table in an action for declaratory relief.

Hence, there is no earthly REASON for Cohen to "testify" in that case, since there are no depositions or factual hearings scheduled in that case in the first place. The only thing going on is a hearing later this month on whether that case stays alive at all.

In the ill-advised defamation case, Daniels has already lost and been assessed an award of $300k in fees against her. No one had to testify in that one either.

Betcha anything that when Cohen testifies back in DC, Avenatti will be putting on one of his clown shows outside in front of microphones to pretend for the umpteenth time that he had anything to do with the January 2018 disclosures in the WSJ that Cohen handled the payment to her for her agreement not to talk about Trump - like the one he put on outside of the court in New York after the judge invited him to either act like or lawyer or leave.
