The next time you ask "Why doesn't media do its job?"

think of Julian Assange.

Even if the journalists of the MSM were truly just lazy, as some assert, they could cut and paste from WikiLeaks and have one outrageous story after another, but it isn't about anyone being lazy. It is out there, it is free and few will touch it.

At the NYTimes someone "did their job" by telling us that Assange might not have flushed a toilet or two.

Journalism is a cornerstone of democracy. At least, it used to be.

They gloss over the big stuff that is crucial to our republic and emphasis the trivial because it is easy to take pictures and talk.

There really only a few stories the local news covers and that is coruption (after the fact), accidents and murder, Sports, Weather Related stuff and feel good stuff...

Their argument was the debate moderators would hold the candidates to explain statements they had made. Needless to say the rnc rejected that format. The show ended with another network in the background asking the candidates who is better, Elvis or Johnny Cash?

It was a chilling reminder of what news in this country has become

and patriotic. Since they all; in some way shape or form, benefit from war.

It's best that we are all thinking about fluff and not world events. Beyond that, the sponsors get to decide what news is on. They don't want any stories that will effect their bottom line.
