JohnnyRingo update

Just waiting for him to wake so they remove respirator. Please everyone pray that all goes well! It been a very emotional seven days and I am so greatful for your support and love. I pray we can get him well enough to come home! I’m not a very strong person but I am really am trying. Also just found out that my other girlfriend got pneumonia and now a stroke and can’t talk. I’ve cried all week and my stress level is off the charts. Hoping I get good news about Bob. Love to all❤️

Thoughts, well wishes, and prayers to JohnnyRingo and you and your friend. I can't imagine how stressed and frazzled you must be, but know that there are many strangers here at DU who have you in their thoughts!

I know how scary this must be for you. My late husband was a Type I diabetic from age 4. Occasionally his blood sugar would soar to dangerous levels and he'd end up with ketoacidosis. When he did, he went into the hospital and he always developed pneumonia. Nine times out of ten he'd end up sedated and on a respirator. It was so nerve wracking waiting for his lungs to clear enough for them to wean him off the respirator and for him to wake up. He always did. I lost him in December 2014 to heart failure.

I'm keeping both of you in my thoughts.

Just this minute texted our priest to say I was waiting for an update. He assured me again of his intercession.

A for each one of you.

For just listening...my fear had been indiscribable and I have not been able to do anything. Last night I went to my daughters and slept huddled up with my 8 year old grandson because I felt I just couldn’t sleep. Everyone here in D.U. Has always supported anyone in need and that’s what makes us a family! Ten years ago I asked for help with my diabetic cat and here I am 7 years later still holding that same cat every night. Compassion, love, support helps people here weekly. I never pass a post to reply since that day when I reached out for help and I’ve been a member for 14 years. You’re all wonderful and I hope you see JohnnyRingo (Bob) posting here again soon! ❤️

It’s so humbling when someone here shares a difficult moment or pain or loss or anguish. At the very least we are here to listen and help lift the burden. Don’t forget the great words of our own beloved Skittles: “someone’s always here.” And think of it, how literally true that is, considering how many time zones are represented in the membership of DU. I bet they’re on EVERY continent by now, perhaps excluding Antarctica (unless there’s a DUer within some scientific expedition underway down there).

Gotta say, the first time I read that Skittles post, it really touched me, deep down. Three words. That’s all it is. “Someone’s always here.” Three simple words about an even simpler truth.

Please do keep us posted along this journey you’re on, now.

He is off the vent. This is the second time he has had pneumonia.
My girlfriend spoke a few words today she’s only 60.
Hope they both keep improving daily.
