Millions of Americans are now on the brink of having their lives destroyed. The moment Trump was elected I knew we had committed national suicide by electing a lunatic.
I posted here a couple of times suggesting people should start an emergency fund, pay down debt, move their 401k to safer funds. It was easy to predict that Trump would probably wreck our country and ruin millions of lives.
I don't know if there are DU members who work for the federal government. If you do, I hope you listened to my advise.
Things are going to get a lot worse. The Republicans are protecting a lunatic in order to protect themselves from their radical base that they created. If they keep on doing that we will all get hurt.
Trump hurt the farmers, now government workers. He has damaged the government agencies who protect us. The body count is growing everyday he is in office. We have to remove him before it's too late.
Good luck everyone.

(4,379 posts)I agree some people don't make enough money to save anything. Most people can save money if they make the effort. You have to learn to do without. We buy a lot of things we don't really need.
Don't eat out, stay home and make your own meals.
One simple thing you can do is to throw all your change in bucket and don't touch it. You would be surprised how fast it builds up.
If you want to buy something that can wait, don't put on the credit card. Save for it. Pay in cash. There are many things you can do to protect yourself. I know, I have done it.

Nothing except for expanding their credit card debt as the cost of living goes up and wages remain stagnant. I've noticed credit card companies start spreading offers like water again. Much akin to what happened towards the end of the great recession.
