You know they decided we had souls 1700 years ago just so they could send us all to hell, right?

Another take, from @LOLGOP: Miscarriage: god's way of saying you got raped, after all.

If they think we can self-abort so easily, why on earth do they think we need to resort to actual medical or surgical abortions?

However, I know he'd answer it to say that the woman's body doing it is God's choice, where as Plan B is her choice to thwart God's choice.

Read Humanae Vita, that's exactly the reasoning it uses as to why artificial birth control is immoral, but "natural" birth control like they rhythm method isn't. (And we all know calendars and thermometers grow on birth-control tree while rubbers are made by sinful tire factories.)

Akin may or not be Catholic, but a lot of conservative churches believe exactly that.

The real question is, now that he's been corrected on his "natural defense" idiocy, is it going to change his mind at all? No. It won't.

I wonder what other misconceptions (no pun intended) allow antichoicers to force their goals so fanatically? Like God won't allow "legitimately" raped women (i.e. truly innocent women) from becoming pregnant?

Why is it that God chooses one "child" over another, based on the woman's desire for sex at the time?

as Plan B - they just say it's "shutting down" the process, not the body "aborting the child of rape."

Maybe he meant the vagina just closes, or the cervix releases spermicidal hormones? My own opinion, of course, is he had no idea what the hell he was talking about or how these natural defenses purportedly do it. He definitely didn't hear it from a scientist, so apparently he's always had the answer even though he's never asked the question, never wondered about the particulars. A real Dubya-type intellectual.

The problem with trying to convince anti-choicers about what you said is, it's long been referred to as a "mis-carriage."
