Hell, they played the 'abortion debate' out over nearly 50 years, forgoing numerous opportunities to actually pass laws against it. Now that they are actually trying to pass legislation, they're facing backlash all over the country.

Repubs don't want to solve problems, they want to exploit them for political gain. Trump is just following the Repub playbook.
