Akin... another one of the right's useful extremists

Don't kid yourself, these extreme rightwing nutjobs are very important to the GOP. They always shift the MSM "debate" slowly to the right by making less extreme rightwing positions seem more palatable.

Wasn't that long ago that "no exceptions for rape and incest" was considered beyond radical--as it should be!--now that's just common "pro-life" dogma.
Anyone who thinks that a woman should be forced to risk her life and health in order to give a rapist the gift of his very own child is beyond sick. Our side should be able to articulate this to counter the extreme woman-hating of Akin, Santorum, Palin, Ryan, etc.

We do not accept it. Period. Because it shuts down discussion after having lobbed a bomb in the town square.

That is what we should all call him. The press should have headlines: "Misogynistic Douche Bag Aligned With Republican VEEP Nominee".

I don't think this is going to go away. Akin and Ryan sponsored a House Bill that redefined rape.

This is not going to go well for R&R even if Akin withdraws.

I hope.

I remember he spoke out against the 17th Amendment not too long ago, and then it seems like there was something else before his rape commentary, but I can't remember what it was.
