Is this it? The big one? The fulcrum of Democrats and reason and decency vs trump/repubs?

As many have said, this really isn't about the wall. Look at the magnitude of the lies being spun (thousands of dangerous people vs the reality of essentially none).

This is about him deciding he wants something and is demanding it - because who could dare refusing him something he wants (apparently in his life no one has ever stood up to him...not really).

I keep reading in the news ways the Dems should or could throw him a small carrot - something symbolic, something he can spin to show he can win this (or at least spin another lie for his base).

My feeling is that if he wants this to be his Bunker Hill, his Gettysburg, his Alamo - let it be this issue that breaks him and repubs. Democrats should not - can not - give a centimeter, not give him one penny.

As a lifelong Democrat, I am really tired of being the party that bends, gives in, does the decent thing, apologizes for the dirty words or the dancing. This is a fight - the stakes are enormous for our future, in my view....it's time to dig in and not give an atom to this terrorist, this hostage taker, of a so-called "president".

This is so not about the wall because he had two years with both houses. He’s engineering this entire mess for his own racist ego.

It really feels a line in the sand has been drawn and something socially huge is happening. A basic battle of right versus wrong for the soul of our country. We need to be victorious.

"It's enough."

F the carrot.

We all know tomatoes are better anyway.

Let him plant his own garden, show him the worms. Tell him they're protein or fried chicken. Time's up.

I don’t really care about the wall but perhaps we could get something in exchange.

Protection for dreamers
Illimenation of child snatching at border
Reaffirming asylum laws
Renter Paris climate deal.

I’m sure the dems are already aware.

I don't want you to be suffering, but I don't want to give into this hostage situation since I know it'll just escalate from there. This is one of those moments where my tender heart is in conflict with my my thinking brain. Still, I'm sorry for your unnecessary current hardship and I just wanted you to know.

You have a great attitude in all this. I appreciate that!

Time will tell, but right now this is looking good for us and bad for Republicans. I'm not overly worried tomorrow night will change that, which is what the Republicans are hoping will be the case.

We'll know by Friday I expect when he returns from his trip to the border. If their polling shows tomorrow went well for them then I expect we'll have his emergency declaration. This is all insanity, and on a personal level, I'm completely over all of it, too!
