10. Actually everytime President Obama told the networks that he wanted to address

the Anerican people, his speech got aired on all channels and cable networks. I don't remember a time which it wasn't.

Trump lies with every other word. Having him lying in a national broadcast and then aggressively fact checking him is not a bad thing. One thing that I have noticed is that the media is aggressively fact checking him now and reporting the results, all except Fox.

who said President Obama made a major speech on immigration reform, wanted it to be broadcast, and the networks refused to carry it because it was "too partisan." He said if the networks needed an excuse not to broadcast Trump, they could say they were simply being consistent. But no, Trump gets immediate access to all three major networks (as well as Fox, of course).

Hence my comment.

I am one that believe that the more Trump is on tv now, the more he hurts republicans and himself.
He is just a chronic liar whose lies are rather easily refuted. The election of 2018 showed that has become a liability for republicans and in 2020, for him.

My biggest concern with Trump is that coming into the election of 2020, he allows a largescale attack on this country to happen, one that he had information on and could have stopped, all done under the assumption that it helps him, and I am afraid that it would if he is running against anyone but Joe Biden. A person can say that US Intelligence will out him to the American public, but he did meet privately with Putin and as far as we know, US Intelligence did nothing to find out what was going on in the meeting.

This could blow up in his face like his escapade with the troop on Christmas Day has.

He is desperate. He sees that he is losing. I will throw out outlandish lies that will get fact checked. My guess in next week he will be blaming aides for convincing him to go to the border and lie.

... and not because of a real national emergency.

Now when a ... TRUE ... emergency comes what are they doing to do?

Play him so more so people think he's lying

They didn't give Obama this courtesy, they should be consistent.

My guess is this hurts him also and paint him even more into a corner. More and more people are simply tuning him out, even when they can't avoid seeing his mug on tv. He just has too many proven lies weighing against him at this point.

We can vote with our clickers, and that will annoy the petty Trump to no end.

What scares me is that this time around, Trump has the built-in advantages of being an incumbent in addition to the deplorables that voted for him without those perks.

There should be reasonable limits on how much and how often. Usually this wouldn't be an issue. But who knows nowadays. That said they should also have to give equal time to the opposing party. The networks have a duty to keep us informed. I'd rather hear directly from elected officials than talking heads

We watch very little network tv. News is skewed, not into reality shows, dance shows, singing shows. Boycotting may end up being a blessing. Never did see Trumps show.
