Former Vice President Joe Biden (D) is likely to make a decision on whether he will run for the presidency in 2020 within the next two weeks, according to a New York Times report.
Biden has reportedly told those close to him that he does not feel other potential Democratic presidential contenders could beat President Trump
One Democrat he spoke to recently told the Times that Biden during a phone call said, If you can persuade me there is somebody better who can win, Im happy not to do it. But I dont see the candidate who can clearly do what has to be done to win."
The former vice president during an appearance in Montana last month said that he believes he is "the most qualified person in the country to be president. Ive been doing this my whole adult life, and the issues that are the most consequential relating to the plight of the middle class and our foreign policy are things that I have even my critics would acknowledge, I may not be right, but I know a great deal about it, he said, according to CNN

Not to mention, of the three, the one easiest to attack on management skills is Hillary.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, google Biden, women, nuzzle.
The ads have already made themselves.
And the "gaffes".

People dismiss it by saying -- truthfully -- that he doesn't have any bad intentions. That is true -- he doesn't.
But he clearly has made some women and girls uncomfortable. And in the MeToo era, that will be have a negative impact.

(45,120 posts)foreign affairs are not my top priority. Once Trump is gone Dems can easily repair all the problems motherfucker has created with our allies and craft new foreign policy. Right now Jay Inslee is hitting the right button with me on climate change.

(92,408 posts)and we all know the personal tragedy why he didn't run in 2016, and because of that, I won't jump on him for his speculation that he could have beaten trump in 2016.
At this time I personally would like to see him as our nominee in 2020 for multiple reasons, however, if he decides not to run, I don't want to hear the bullshit how he could have beaten trump, or whoever the republicans choose for their nominee, which will probably be trump. Either he puts up or shuts up. You run or you don't, but please don't complain about how you shoulda or coulda if you decide not to run

I brought back a number of signs used during the National Convention and my son grabbed one of the Joe's signs. I took one for myself and the other delegate to the convention grabbed the last one. I believe that Joe would probably matched up best with trump

(1,896 posts)What I'd really like to see out of Biden is a running mate who could complement his flaws. I'm not going to get that in a primary.
The bottom line is that he's really not my first choice in the primary, but he's on the short list who could make me indecently happy with my choice in the general. It's weird, I admit.
