Nancy Pelosi has made progress as she has gone from a penny to a dollar! Graham shouted. Nancy Pelosi sees the border crisis as manufactured. President Trump sees it as real. And until we see the same movie, youre never going to reach a conclusion. The president is right to dig in to get money for a wall as part of border security.
Why cant you reopen the government while you argue about the things you just laid out? Brennan asked the South Carolina Republican.
Why would you negotiate with somebody who calls you a racist if you want a wall, who gives you a dollar for a wall? Graham complained. Were not going to negotiate with people who see the world this way. Well negotiate with Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL). But Im not going to negotiate with someone who calls the Border Patrol a bunch of Nazis.
What about those people who work for Homeland Security, who carry out the policies youre talking about who are not going to get paid? the CBS host interrupted. What about the Coast Guard.

Tens of thousands of U.S. immigration officers and agents are showing up for work each day to guard the Mexico border, where President Trump insists on putting a wall. But the government is shut down, so no one is getting paid.
The paralysis in bank accounts extends to overburdened U.S. immigration courts. New filings are piling up on dockets already backlogged by nearly 1 million cases, but many of the judges and clerks who process them have been sent home.
And when U.S. companies and employers want to check the immigration status of potential hires, they are greeted by a red banner across the top of the governments E-Verify website. Those services are currently unavailable due to a lapse in government appropriations, it says ...
U.S. Border Patrol agents, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and other front-line enforcement personnel at the Department of Homeland Security remain on duty as essential workers, but with little more than an assurance they will eventually be paid ...

(12,409 posts)So obvious. I suppose it could be a money thing, no one cares that much about his personal life. But I think it has to be something much bigger. His name has to be linked to some traitorous stuff is my guess.

(14,276 posts)They had two years and all they basically did was make it easier for the mentally ill to get guns, give huge tax cuts to the wealthy and appoint two unqualified Supreme Court justices.
They failed at repealing the Affordable Care Act. They failed at immigration reform. They failed to fill key government positions.
They had their chance and blew it. No wall.
