Attention MSM: Short-Circuit Trump's Mind. There is an easy way to make him lose his shit on TV.

.

While there is a comic bit in an Austin Powers movie, where Will Farrell's character cannot be asked the same question three times, this is actually based on reality--as told by my doctor neighbor and affirmed by another psychologist.

People with narcissistic and borderline personality disorders always try to redirect people, when challenged. Unfortunately, most people allow this redirection, because it takes an alert and trained mind, and someone willing to have a confrontation stick to the question at hand.

When someone asks Trump a question, and he changes the topic (redirection), ask the question two more times.

He will completely lose his shit on the third time, because he will realize he is trapped and cannot fool the questioner.

He had some dude handing the mike to people, several reporters actually did try to ask the same question over again but the goon pulled the mike away. I was hoping the press would collude and have the next person ask the same question that was just ignored, but it didn't happen.

From Psychology Today a primer on narcissistic rage:

"Narcissistic rage can be defined as intense anger, aggression, or passive-aggression when a narcissist experiences a setback or disappointment, which shatters his (or her) illusions of grandiosity, entitlement, and superiority, and triggers inner inadequacy, shame, and vulnerability.

Examples of narcissistic rage range from intense outbursts and sudden fits of anger, to passive-aggressive acts such as simmering resentment, icy silence, deliberate neglect, or cutting sarcasm. What distinguishes narcissistic rage from normal anger is that it is usually unreasonable, disproportional, and cuttingly aggressive (or intensely passive-aggressive), all because the narcissists’ wants and wishes are not being catered to. It is a blow to their superficial, idealized self-image."

Since no matter how profoundly unhinged the Trumpenfuerer becomes, only the "fake news" channels would air it, and Fox, while continually reminding it's viewers not to trust anyone else, would show video of cute puppies.

Trumpsters should be written off from the idea that they think three-dimensionally. (Well, some do think in 3-D, unfortunately, that is mostly when it pertains to criminal thought or scheming.) They will need to break free when they are ready. Many in their social circle, their neighborhood, community, etc. will keep the strings to Trump connected. In effect, they will need something akin to a religious conversion, which means alienating some of those close to them. We cannot control that.

We can help affirm to those who have left Trump and other non-Trumpsters, that he is a lunatic.

Professional politicians can be asked the same question over and over and properly evade without blowing their stack.

Trumpy and the US MSM have nothing... nothing on this Paxman-Howard exchange (21+ years ago but this never gets old... 1/2 way in Paxman asks "did you threaten to overrule him?" 12 times. Never got a straight answer. I would love to see Paxman interview Trump in this format.

I always wonder why they don't think of this. Perhaps because they're too busy trying to scoop each other's stories. But at a f'in press conference, what's there to scoop?

Reporter A: Mr. President, why did you XYZ?

Trump: Meaningless drivel meant to redirect

Reporter B: Mr. President, why did you XYZ?

Trump: Meaningless drivel meant to redirect

Reporter C: Mr. President, why did you XYZ?

Trump: Meaningless drivel meant to redirect

Repeat until his head explodes or he takes his ball and goes home.

Just thinking about him blowing his stack, with expletives, flailing arms, red face, sputtering...the whole nine yards....is a delicious idea. But more than likely he’d keep it together with snarky answers and move on to the next questioner. I’ve seen him do it and he kind of likes to do that. He can show off to his base how quick his wit is and how SMART he is. (A legend in his own mind.) And if he really just can’t take it any more, he will just declare the presser over and turn on his heel and leave.

Believe me, I’d Love to see the Press Corp work together to make him lose his sh*t on live TV. But I’m pretty sure it is not going to happen like we envision it. Sadly.....😢

I will say, he seems to be getting more and more frustrated as time goes on....so there may be a point where he goes over the edge. Fingers crossed.....

Like Kellyanne Conway and other "guests". They never answer. And the interviewer ALWAYS 'moves on'.

I would love it if they'd just keep asking some question, perhaps confronting Trump or even just one of his surrogates, with a question about some lie they told. And just keep repeating it, not once, twice, three times, but again and again and again until they either answer, or get up and walk out of the studio. And even then don't stop. Shout out the question as they are leaving too, with a few "why aren't you answering my question?...are you afraid to answer?...the American people want to hear your response....where are you going?...."
