The claims of one of the women had initially been misunderstood to state or infer that Kavanaugh had participated in raping her, but she then made a new statement clarifying that HE wasn't the one who had raped her. He was just at the party, passing out drinks in red plastic cups or something.

Kavanaugh was not, and is not, alleged to have raped anyone.

Get it right. It's not helpful to push a story that is false. The real allegations are enough.

There is a difference between rape and sexual assault. He held her down and got on top of her, laughing, & pulled at her clothing, but didn't actually remove any clothing or make any attempt to pull his penis out, unzip his pants, or attempt actual rape.

Sexual assault usually means molestation. And in her case, kidnapping, since he held her against her will.

I totally believe the allegations. But the allegations were not of rape or attempted rape. The OP calls Kavanaugh a rapist, which is incorrect.

I think a lot of people are under the misapprehension that he was accused of rape. He wasn't.
