Looks like Sanders is announcing, or not, on Jan 12

I just got an invitation for a viewing party for a Bernie Sanders live streaming event on January 12th. I can't imagine what else it could be for except that he will announce he's running or isn't.

Rich Pelletier is in a leadership position with Organizing for Bernie, a federal PAC. Pelletier's name came up in the New York Times story about the alleged sexual harassment / alleged sexual violence / alleged predatory culture during the 2016 campaign.

Ms. Di Lauro [former BS strategist in Nevada] said she told several people who were high up in the campaign, including Rich Pelletier, who served as national field director, about her encounter in Nevada with the surrogate, a Mexican game show host named Marco Antonio Regil. But she felt she was not taken seriously by the campaign.

According to The Times:

Mr. Pelletier did not respond to phone messages and emails seeking comment.

Given that both BS and Pelletier seem to be involved in the upcoming livestream, maybe it will be a response to the allegations rather than an announcement

He would be 80 January 20, 2021. Much too old. I'm not being ageist--I know whereof i speak. I'm pushing 84, am still somewhat sharp, can forget why I went to the grocery store, but do remember what store I'm looking for at the mall. Most of time.

I also think he's too old. I also think we have plenty of other good candidates this time around who were either not ready or unwilling to challenge Clinton. I'm glad Bernie ran in 2016, but 2020 is for a new generation.

That "the political, financial and media elite of this country will stop at nothing to defeat us" and "Wall Street Democrats" are "running ads in early primary states" against him. "They not only want to discourage or defeat a Sanders candidacy, they want to make sure that the progressive agenda is not advanced by anyone. They want us to go back to their failed corporate approach which led to a massive level of income and wealth inequality ... ." "Last time we ran, we made the financial elite pay a price for their attacks on our progressive agenda. It's just as important we do it again today." "In 2016 we faced the kitchen sink."

Um, this is weird. Republicans are the problem, not Democrats. Elizabeth Warren, give Bernie a call please.

He said he would NOT run if someone else did who he thought was good.

I GUARANTEE you he is running.

NO MATTER who else does.

And oh BOY do I want to be wrong, dying to be WRONG!

The only other scenario I can see is he doesnt run but announces support for who? Who would it be?
