It doesn't matter that he is a corrupt, misogynist, racist, sexist, rapist, bigoted, homophobic, insane, traitor, little turd of a human being.

All they care about is he is singing their tune, They hate the fact that America is becoming a homogenous country filled with people of every race, creed and walk of life. Where the White Anglo-Saxon men and their families will no longer be the dominant force in America. They want it to go back to the "Good Old Days" when "Men were Men" and Women knew their place. Where you could stand in a grocery store check-out line and not hear someone speaking a foreign language, or walk down a street and not see a woman in a hijab. (Although those WASP folks sure did make life miserable for my Irish and Italian grandparents)

They are frightened because pure white Americans now account for 60% of the US population and will drop below 50% by 2045. He speaks to them. Their bigotry, their racist feelings and their fears. It doesn't matter what else he says or does. As long as he is out there protecting their "Way of Life" he will always have a hard core of 38-45% support. I don't think any indictments, or impeachment will ever change that number.

it but it's easier and 'safer' to express hatred and intolerance than being honest and vulnerable.

4. I think many of us thought that. That those sentiments were isolated to a few areas of the country

or within hate groups. But he has given them permission to come out of the shadows, to show their ugly side.

3. I worked with a guy for many years, same approximate pay grade and frequent interactions. In all

those years I liked the guy and never heard him say anything inappropriate regarding race. Finally, I was in my 17th year and he was in about his 25th. He announces his retirement and says he is moving to Idaho. Curious, I asked him what made him decide to do that. His response really surprised me. To paraphrase, he just did not want his teen daughters to be hanging around people of color. That was the only response he gave. A few months later they packed up and off they went. I had no idea that was the person I had been working with for 17 years. I'm sure we all know someone similar.
