"We could call a national emergency ...
and build it very quickly."

It is reasonable to assume that prior to the Trump administration, those first six words, had they been spoken by any other president, would have been typeset in larger-than-usual points, i.e., in a newspaper's large font size — as these words would have been, as well:

"I may do it. I may do it."

Yet Trump's madness has become such a routine issue in journalism and its readership, those words are merely part of another day of ho-hum chaos and frenzy.

"Oh? Trump is pondering a circumvention of Congress, a military deployment for wall construction, and the presidential exercise of virtual despotic powers, casually expressed? So what else is in the news? Anything of interest?" The headline, size-wise, warranted nothing out of the ordinary.

<<snip>>

The reason for this blessing is swiftly apparent. Except for Dick Nixon and possibly Andrew Johnson putzing around, guzzling scotch, and talking to ghosts in the White House, we've never had an utter lunatic as president. That changed in January 2017, since in November 2016, America went as bonkers as Donald Trump and put the unhinged imbecile in the Oval Office.

Now he's yapping I may do it, I may do it, I just may call a national emergency and deploy my really handy military to the border (again), since Congress won't give me what I want. L'etat c'est moi.

Does anyone believe that Trump would stop there — declaring an emergency just for the wall? Or is it more likely he would find such power addictive — and useful for all manner of congressionally unapproved ambitions.

I know how I would bet.

He will answer leading questions from the press in the moment, whatever sounds good to his muddled head.

There is no strategy. There is only the chaos of the moment from a child.

These are the folks feeding trump the bullshit he then incoherently, and with little to no understanding, spews back.
They are pulling the strings on a daily basis. And they are a serious threat.

His next step would be cancelling freedom of speech by making it a crime of treason to say anything bad about the president (or Russia, SA, Turkey or Israel?). He'd also call off the Mueller probe saying it violated these terms, and cancel all the lawsuits against him or any of his organizations. The only question is would the traitors in SCOTUS actually go this far in allowing him to unilaterally undo parts of the constitution

I don't know...if no one is interested in pushing for legitimate facts and forcing a process to get to TRUTH...

how many terrorists REALLY crossed southern border, how many drug dealers, how many rapists, how many criminals, etc.

How can anyone counter all the lies?

At least Bush, Rice, Powell presented a coherent argument for WMD in Iraq.

When we've given up on seeking the truth we have no democracy!

I am very afraid...
