so what are these meetings about this weekend?
Trump also kicked off the meeting with a profanity laden opening salvo lasting more than 15 minutes in which he made it clear that he had no plans to move on from his demand for $5.6 billion to build a border wall, according to a person familiar with the meeting.
Trump also addressed the issue of impeachment, directing his remarks at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, according to two people familiar with what happened inside the room. Pelosi, in response, told him the meeting was supposed to be about re-opening the government, not impeachment, the people said.
The Wall Street Journal earlier reported on Trump's preference for calling the shutdown a "strike."

(10,437 posts)Trump cares nothing about any of this. Per my post this morning, its my belief this is the ACE he has been holding onto. Why NO SERIOUS action on this fricking $5 billion border wall has been taken by the GOP in congress. They are trying to use the pain of the shutdown to destroy the House Democrats. We all must stay resilient and the pain has even started. This is to THE HISTORIC moment in our history with a madman who wants to be a tyrant willing to destroy americans at will to achieve it.

(182,830 posts)Roy Cohn was great at this. Trump kept a picture of Cohn in his desk in order to ask his prey "Do you want THIS GUY coming after you?" Then after he got his win he punched back down on the poor victim.
He isn't used to and clearly doesn't understand that Congress has equal footing.

(14,532 posts)By the time they finally wake up to the fact he is unstable it will be too late....Oh. Wait this is the KGOP we're talking about.
But Democratic officials familiar with the meeting said the idea of a specific "working group" never came up during the meeting, only that Pence had suggested staff discussions.
He opened the meeting with a profanity laced tirade. (he later said Tlaib calling him a MF'er was disrespectful)
He wants to call his shutdown a strike. Blaming workers for his own inadequacies is nothing new.
Said he is willing to keep the government shut down for years. Which will cripple security measures making us even more vulnerable to attacks than he already has, with his policies. ( I believe this is the plan, he can easily disband congress and become the dictator he so wants to be)
Called the house leader of his own party by the wrong name
Said he will call a State of emergency and have the military build the wall.
