experts say that counterintelligence will want to know where Trump he got his latest lies

FBI will investigate where Trump got made-up Russian history of Afghanistan invasion: Former intel chief

During the televised portion of his cabinet meeting on Wednesday, President Donald Trump delivered a bizarre rant about how the war in Afghanistan led to the collapse of the Society Union which has been widely mocked by American journalists and historians, including even the conservative Wall Street Journal editorial board.

Trump falsely claimed that Russia invaded Afghanistan because “terrorists were going into Russia” and “literally they went bankrupt” as a result.

On Friday, MSNBC’s Brian Williams brought up Trump’s retelling of history with two experts, former FBI assistant director for counterintelligence Frank Figliuzzi and Gen. Barry McCaffrey (Ret.).

“It’s an astonishing assertion by the president,” said McCaffrey. “It sounds as if the talking points are written by the GRU… This is a truly astonishing, ignorant statement by the president.”

Figliuzzi said American counterintelligence agencies will want to know where Trump got his warped ideas about the subject.

“The counterintelligence side is going to take a look at why it is our president is siding with a communist regime claiming that the Russians were ‘right’ to go into Afghanistan,” Figliuzzi said. “They’re going to want to know the reasoning behind that, and where it’s coming from.”

Maybe tRump should run against Putin, to be the next president of Russia??? Nah, that would ruin Vlad's plans to rule the entire world. He is certainly off to a good start, he already runs the US.

It sure looks like Putin is controlling Trump to the point that he is telling him what to say.

It's happening in broad daylight; his conversations about Montenagro, about Poland, about how the Soviets were justified to invade Afghanistan, are all Putin talking points.

Trump defies our military's advice and is pulling troops from Syria and Afghanistan. Putin certainly wants our troops out of Syria so that Gazprom can start building the Iran-Iraq-Syria natural gas pipeline that is to supply gas to the EU.

Removing sanctions from Derepaska is blatant Putin ass kissing. We have a Putin puppet in Donald Trump and millions of Americans don't care, they proudly wear those "I'd rather be Russian than Democrat" tee shirts.

I wish that were the case. However I suspect there is more to this story that doesn't make sense. It really does sound like Putin talking points to puff up the Russian experience trying to elicit some support from the West, well only trump.

Despite the fact that thousands of comedians will lose their gig if he goes, he has to go. Rachel showed the strange connections between Trump's absurd statements and Russian machinations on Thursday night. He claimed Monte Negro was an agressive state that could well get us into WWIII! What? Yes, he did. Why would our most ignorant and vacuous Individual-1 refer to this tiny country out of the blue in an interview with, I think it was Tucker the Bloviator, about fiscal policy? Turns out, at that very moment, Russia was applying pressure to both NATO and Monte Negro to keep the little Balkan country from joining NATO. Got it? Russia targeted little Monte Negro and Orange Asswipe regurgitated Russia's talking points completely out of context of the interview.

Similarly, Putin has ordered his propagandists to begin re-selling the Afghan disaster as an effort to stop terrorism. It had never, ever been presented that way, not by Russia, not by the rest of the world. But shortly after the "new" propaganda began to be issued, Individual-1 spouted the party-line, the Communist Party line. Individual-1 is acting as a Russian agent. He's doing it right out in public. And he still has an estimated 30,000,000 truly deplorable Americans worshipping at the altar of his golden toilet.

Christ, I'm afraid for my country.

If Putin's version is correct, then why do I own a book by Andre Amalrik, first published in 1970 (in the Netherlands, in the Russian language), entitled "Will the Soviet Union Survive Until 1984?" and describing many fatal internal management errors in the Soviet Union which Putin was then helping to manage?
