Nancy Pelosi pushes back hard on question of censuring freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib for language

...Joy Reid, at a Town Hall with Nancy Pelosi, asked the Speaker for her reaction to Rep. Rashida Tlaib's statement that "we're gonna go in there and impeach the motherfucker."

Pelosi responded that she'd, "probably have a generational reaction to it," but she's "not in the censorship business."

"I don't think it's worse than what the president has said."

"I don't think it consolidates his base, I don't think it makes much difference."

"I don't think we should make a big deal of it... I really don't, I really don't."

"Words weigh a ton, and the president has to realize his words weigh a ton, too, and some of the words he's used have a direct impact on people's lives. My colleague's comments do not have an impact on people's lives."

"If she were a man would they be making a fuss like this?"

"I don't know why we're making so much of a big deal of it now... I think frankly what she said was less offensive than what Trump said about John McCain."

So did Tlaib.

I don’t necessarily approve of her language, but she was at a private party.

I do approve of the fact she didn’t apologize for it. Good for her.

She is a public figure.

Pelosi made a great point by asking this question, "If she were a man would they be making a fuss like this?"

I'm not sure. I don't think the wingnuts would ever allow an opportunity to be outraged to pass them by, but maybe they would if it was a man.

She just doesn't think it's that big of a deal.

But I'm pretty sure she wasn't too happy about having to answer questions about a freshman Member's comments on the second day of her speakership. And I have a feeling that, while she publicly defended her and would never throw her under the bus, Madame Speaker's displeasure was privately conveyed to Rep. Tlaib.

I listened to Madame Speaker and I got the distinct impression that she wasn't happy with it all while thinking it was a distraction (which it is, but let's not hand the lunatics on the right any ammunition!). I can't imagine she didn't instruct Tlaib on the importance of nuance and public optics going forward. It was a rookie error that will be forgotten in a few days (I hope anyway, as I'm sick of hearing about it).

Now, AOC, on the other hand - what a terrible way to start with that dancing business!

RELATED: GOP Piles on Donald Trump Over Remarks on Women

In the 2005 recording obtained by NBC News from Access Hollywood, Trump, then newly married to Melania Trump, spots a young woman through a bus window while in conversation with Billy Bush, at the time an anchor for Access Hollywood, and others.

"Whoa, whoa," he said to Bush about the woman’s appearance. “I gotta use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her."
[Newly-Surfaced Trump Audio: 'I Did Try to (Expletive) Her, She Was Married']
Newly-Surfaced Trump Audio: 'I Did Try to (Expletive) Her, She Was Married' 2:32

Earlier in the conversation, Trump recalls talking about trying to woo a married woman. "I moved on her actually, she was down in Palm Beach and I failed. I’ll admit it. I did try to fuck her, she was married ... and I moved on her very heavily," Trump is heard saying.

"I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture and I told her 'I'll show you where you can get some nice furniture,'” Trump is heard saying. “I moved on her like a bitch, and I could not get there, and she was married. And all the sudden I see her and she’s got the big phony tits, she’s totally changed her look.” https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/trump-hot-mic-when-you-re-star-you-can-do-n662116

“I’m automatically attracted to beautiful women — I just start kissing them, it’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything," he said in the 2005 conversation. "Grab 'em by the pussy."

Ten years later, as a candidate and now the Republican nominee, Trump has come under fire for insulting and directing crude language toward women. He’s rejected such criticism repeatedly, insisting “nobody has more respect for women than me."

..is the way they talk about helping or hurting the party, seemingly oblivious of the pile-on effect of their own navel-gazing scolding.

Anyone spending time attacking our Democrats, spending time scolding folks for expressing opposition to Trump, for instance, is doing party politics wrong.

They ain't children (even if they want to act like it in public).
When they do something worthy of laughter; derision, we SHOULD call them out on it .

They wanna get all tight-assed about some fun in college and some off-color, non-bigoted language (unless you're a person who actually SUPPORTS ACTUAL MOTHER FUCKING--then I suppose you might have an argument to make and be heard lol) , we need to CALL THEM ON IT.

A college kid dancing? Really guys? And don't you think for one IOTA of time that we will allow you to get away with any kind of false equivalency bullshit or comparison to Kavanaughs time in the Frat...cause they're not the same.
Rape is NOT an expression of ones First Amendent Right to Free Expression.
So get ready, Deplorables. Mueller is comming, and Nancy's Majority is coming with him, you dumb fuckers.

If you are not a white, male, and conservative, you can't use foul language, you can't dance without being mocked, you can't put your feet on the desk, you can't wear a tan suit, you can't play golf or take a vacation... The right's (and their media lap dogs') hypocrisy has no limits.

Today Trump claimed he will seize large swaths of land from private citizens at gunpoint and declare a “state of emergency” to build a wall without Congressional approval.

In the face of tyranny, Republicans are outraged ... by a freshman Member of Congress using profanity.
