CNN panel explodes after Steve Cortes flips out about Rick Wilson calling him a 'toothless rube'

On Thursday, former Republican operative Rick Wilson unleashed an epic rant about supporters of President Donald Trump who support his proposed border wall.

“The wall has always been a con for Donald Trump’s credulous rube 10-tooth base,” said Wilson on Thursday. “The wall has always been a scam. It has always been a lie. Nothing about the wall has ever been real. And Donald Trump knows it. He is a guy who has a long history in his career as being a con man. He is conning these people who believe he’s going to build a 2,000-mile, 30-foot-high concrete wall with laser moats and alligators in it. It’s just crazy.”

On Friday, Wilson was back on the network and joined by Trump supporter Steve Cortes who said he was offended by Wilson’s comments, and about his statements that the Trump shutdown is harming the American economy.

“Don’t pretend you care about working class people,” said Cortes. “You were on this network last night calling those of us who support the president, calling us toothless rubes. So spare me the routine that you care about working-class Americans. You condescend to working class.”
