If you have a GOP Senator and/or Rep -- CALL THEM

Call them every single day. Fax them every day if you can. Do not email them. Call their DC number and their local number.

No need to say you are a Dem. Tell them you want your tax refund, your national parks opened, your TSA keeping airports safe, the Coast Guard paid, that all of this is more important than one man (Trump) holding Americans' lives hostage.

Tell them, like I told Rubio, that your grandfathers fought the Nazis in WWII, and Hitler declared a national emergency to get what he wanted, and that the American people want the shutdown STOPPED. That it is not American or patriotic to do this, and is going against the will of the voters.

Tell them it isn't fair, it is un-american, and that you will remember their inaction when election time comes, and will do everything you can to have them primaried by someone who puts their constituents and their country over one man's ego.

Remind them Congress is as equal as the Executive Branch.

Then ask them, at the end, is Senator/Rep. X patriotic? Do they love America? When they answer yes, tell them that doing this to this great country is not making it "great," it is ruining the economy and its citizens' lives. And it will be remembered.

I mean it, call them. Fax them. Every day. Hold them to the fire. Rubio's office was surprisingly sympathetic. which was unusual.

I have called in person in the past, at least when their answering machines were not full & not answering (which happens often). I can say a bit more in writing than in person.

Are not read as quickly as faxes, and are not considered as urgent to the pols.

I think McConnell not bringing it to the floor is actually the main thing, and if it came to the floor the CR would probably pass. So, pressure from GOP Senators -- and Reps -- may get this done, esp after the national emergency Nazi stuff today.

People will want their tax refunds. Airports need TSA. Coasties and other security/border forces not getting paid cannot continue.

They only want my zip. Face the facts - unless you have ACCESS it is more than likely a waste of time. But I still try.

They always ask for your zip, but they pay attention to what you are saying, except for a few fuckwads like McConnell and Rand Paul.

I can confirm that those two fuckwads only listen to you if you're agreeing with them or donating to them.

Yeah, there are a few that are too far gone, but I bet money Romney will listen, and some other GOP Senators will, too. Rubio might even listen and speak out! They know this is a timebomb, especially with tax refund season starting.

7. Our Senators are Dems and our Congressman, Hunter is too busy with his own indictment

to give a fuck about anybody else. No amount of calls on anything have ever swayed him anyhow, though I would like to see some protests outside of his office organized by those being hurt by this.

I'll bet if someone started a national protest day at Republicans' offices, a vigil to be continued until the shutdown ends, this could be stopped.

I have a news site in Hunter's district. If anyone organizes a shutdown protest at his office let me know and I will share it with our readers. As nonpartisan media I can't propose the idea on our site, but can publicize it to many readers.

Local press like stuff like that.

I personally think some GOP are really freaked out by this, they just have to speak up! As I said, Rubio's office has NEVER been so open and sympathetic, which was interesting to me.

for all the good it ever does. They are both good little trumpkins who do as they are told.

I'll keep calling though...as painfully pointless as it is.
