Here's what's happening now...

The House has recessed to allow each member of Congress to have a private swearing in ceremony with the new Speaker

(In 2006, I was at a watch Party in DC, and unexpectedly got invited along with Gabby Gifford's family for her private swearing in and photo...)

The House will reconvene this evening to vote on re-opening the Government.

on House Resolution 6 which is to vote on the new Rules (Clerk was just reading the schedule and they are working on motions).

on the motion to table the motion to refer (basically delay) the outstanding appropriations bills scheduled to be debated later today. Meaning the GOP doesn't want to solve the shutdown and want to shove stymie the process to begin debate on the appropriations bills.
