The issue that is paramount in the minds of Senate Republicans?

Twenty-two of them are up for re-election in 2020.

They would be foolish to tie their re-election hopes to the wagon of Donald Trump.

Mitch McConnell wants them to jump off the cliff and don't ask any questions.

How enthusiastic are these Senators going to be with the Trump shutdown?

The higher number of republicans will be voted out of office , and replaced with Democrats. The more trump tweets , and talks , the more republicans will be voted out of office in 2020. If the gop in Congress , especially the Senators allow trump to continue this disaster against the American people , their future in politics will be over, and trump already is when all is exposed on him and others. Once again liar trump shows everyone his incompetence and delusional thinking, and why he's had so many failures.

It is possible that the Democrats could win a veto-proof majority in the Senate if the Republican Party stays on their present course.
