Nancy Pelosi—who is hours away from being sworn in a second time as speaker of the House —told the Today show that she believes it is legally possible to indict a president who is still in office. Speaking to the NBC morning show Thursday, Pelosi was asked if she believed that Special Counsel Robert Mueller should respect guidance that says a sitting president shouldn’t be indicted. The California Democrat replied that she didn’t believe the Department of Justice’s memo is “conclusive.” When asked directly if Mueller could indict the president, she said: “It’s not the law. Everything indicates that a president can be indicted when he’s no longer president of the United States.” Pressed further and asked whether a sitting president could be indicted, Pelosi replied: “I think that is an open discussion in terms of the law.”

The founders pretty much emphasized this tenet in an effort not to have a king.

If you replace all the "white collar" crimes that normally occur amongst this crowd with something more visceral like murder, that explains it. If Clarence offed Ginny we might not want to have him arrested, but it would be the right thing to do.

charges he'd be indicted on. I know there's stuff so heinous on him out there the SC won't be able to ignore it.
