Barbaric’: America’s cruel history of separating children from their parents

Official US policy,” tweeted the African American Research Collaborative over the weekend. “Until 1865, rip African American children from their parents. From 1870s to 1970s, rip Native American children from their parents. Now, rip children of immigrants and refugees from their parents.

There are some of our race that have shown their inhumanity for centuries. White privilege. A cleansing. Fear.

This needs to stop. This is why identity politics is so very important to our survival as members of a humane world.

Yes, we're not going to do away with "identity politics" just because it doesn't suit someone's purpose.

Slavery by Another Name by Douglas Blackburn. A must read.

It didn't end with the Emancipation Proclamation. History tells you it really ended at the start of WWI. Even that is not true. It still exists today.

Most people just conveniently forget that our history is full of these kind of darkest actions. Sanctioned genocides and persecutions. It all started right away too, with the Pilgrims, from the very beginning. And you’re right. It still goes on now.

If we don’t face it we will never end it.

I hate white privilege ...

That those in power get to write the story...

The “his”tory, if you will ...

The truth must rise from those gathered at the bottom of the ladder ...

I hope I live long enough to witness it.

Thank you, sheshe
