Your command to renew_deal is misdirected.

Not everyone has a TV at home or in the office.
Not everyone is glued to said TV all the time.
Not everyone rushes to a TV just because a DU member posts "KABOOM".

I click less and less on content free posts and posters.

We can help each other and not create more work with people asking for context and other people stepping in to help DU members instead of an OP making careful posts and saving everyone lots of time.

Cue the "whatever".

Or provide the context as a description of some action or statements you observed.

It is not difficult and it would be a kindness that many DU members would be grateful for, as evidenced by comments in this thread.

It's nice to be kind to DU members, especially when it is not difficult.

Democrats are introducing a bill tomorrow which lists many resolutions presented by republicans and approved by the Senate, and I have to assume that it is along with other resolutions presented by democrats, and do not include any money of the "fuken wall" (President Fox). In other words it should be a no-brainier for the republicans to approve, as it has legislation presented and already approved by the republicans themselves.

Sooo, what democrats are doing is giving republicans some bait, and if they don't byte it will be reaffirmed that the "government shutdown" is entirely owned by republicans and the man-child.

It makes it more difficult for the senate to not pass legislature that was already passed by them, and of the orange buffoon to veto, although he doesn't understand any of it, and as a brat that he is, he will insist on his "fuken wall" so he may not sign.

It would be a 1st victory for this congress to reopen the government, true leadership.

I hope I am being true to the facts.

Who was the stupid woman who asked why submit a bill the president won't sign?

Chuck should have responded, "it's time to hold everyone accountable. We draft the bill, the Senate approves, the president ratifies. If he vetoes we vote to override.

If we fail to override we know why it failed.

The people can see exactly where every individual stands on the issue and judge"

Pelosi and Schumer explained very well. They cannot allow the press to turn on it on Democrat’s. This is ALL on Trump. He wanted it, he said it on tv. We all saw it. There is little of the fourth estate left. It’s starting to reveal what it will look like during the campaign, it doesnt look good.

As Pelosi and Schumer each said, the Democrats in the House will pass the Bill that the GOP already passed in the GOP controlled House.

The same Bill that passed the GOP controlled Senate.

So Trump is at war with the GOP.

The democrats refuse to negotiate with donald trump and the republicans. They do not have a plan. I swear to G-d that is what I heard on my car radio. The only thing they added was Nancy Pelosi saying the dems want to open the government and start negotiations.
But, the story as a whole was a flying piece of dung and smoke came out of my ears.

Not one talking head, but five competent adults with a grasp of the issue of hostage-taking.

They are responding to the subtext of Trump, not his words. The Democrat team is five, strong people working as one. It's been decades since we've seen such a force in Congress. They know how to negotiate and use power, weak negotiators like Trump and the Republicans are about to be taught a lesson.

The GOP has been successful at destroying government because they had monopoly power. Not only do they not have monopoly power now, it's been so long since they've faced a challenge they are totally weak and untrained. Let the rout begin.

.....passed the Senate "led by Mitch McConnell" and McConnell's "exact bill". No chance of worrying about them being rejected by the Senate!!!

And who said she wasn't smart enough or clever enough for this shit?

All he can do is sign them or veto them, and if he vetoes them it will be HIS shutdown, not "the Democrats" or even the Senate republicans.

It may seem fruitless to propose bills that put forward what the Senate has already agreed to, knowing that it won't pass because it doesn't contain the one thing that Trump wants.

But it's a good start. It gives the Republicans chance #2 to re-open the government and re-affirm what they already agreed to. Two different bills...one pushes it off until shortly in the future, giving them more time to negotiate.

At least they are doing something that is adult, responsible, legal, respectful of the process. This is part of governing.
