Starting to think the Shutdown wont end until the Dems cave

With only part of the government shutdown, I dont think its big enough enough for the average person to notice much. And while talking to a conservative friend of mine, he said he supports the shutdown and doesnt care if it ever opens again b/c the "government is too big as is and the important parts are still open". I just dont see Trump caving and abandoning his base when the wall isnt polling well already. If he's gone to the mat for something unpopular, why would he cave and lose the only support he has left?

10. How does your friend feel about native lands not being plowed?

The only government agency that provides snow plows for native lands is the federal government, by treaty. This is one of those "non-essential" government services, but is life or death for the people currently snowbound in the Navajo Nations:

Does your friend think these people should just die, frozen and alone? Because that's pretty goddam cruel and inhuman, and you might think about getting some new friends.

5. No, it's beautiful: the Congressional GOP will have to help override a veto

It might take 2 or 3 more weeks, but once DHS employees start walking off the job, they'll have to fund the department even if it means a veto override.

I dont think we should cave and long term it will likely help us a little. But I've seen enough "both sides" reporting to not get my hopes up that there will be some huge backlash against Trump and the GOP.

that "both sides" are getting blamed. All I see is that donnie is taking the heat because he asked for the heat.....until he realized people would take that seriously. Now he's just flailing.

They ran the House and the Senate as well as the Judicial and the Executive.

They own this entirely.

He does not care if federal employees go hungry; we, as Democrats, do.
