they have no reason to change their stand regarding the so-called wall, but they do have bargaining chips: DACA, immigration reform, detention and separation policies, criminalizing bona fide refugees as they step across the border. i think at this point trump is just trying to find the least humiliating way out of his colossal fuck up.
