Her guests were saying how he was an empty suit and she was fighting back. Said she and Joe are great friends with Mitt and Annie.

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski said President Donald Trump could be getting a reality check from incoming Republican Utah Sen. Mitt Romney as he assumes office after he wrote a scathing op-ed in The Washington Post.

“Let me just read the title of Mitt Romney’s opinion piece that he wrote. ‘The president shapes the public character of the nation. Trump’s character falls short’ — it’s a big piece that he’s written in The Washington Post and it is searing. It is damning,” Brzezinski said Wednesday on “Morning Joe.” “If Trump thought he had a challenge in John McCain, if Trump thought there was a little challenge in Jeff Flake, I get a feeling Mitt Romney is going to bring in a whole new dose of reality for this president,” she continued.

Brzezinski praised Romney for still wanting to serve in government despite losing the 2012 presidential election and said he’ll serve as a constant counterweight to Trump.

“Mitt’s run for president himself — and he didn’t win. And you know what he decided to do? Serve anyway,” she said. “And I think Trump is going to regret not talking him out of this. There was some possibility he could have done that. Mitt Romney is making it very clear he’s going to be much more than a thorn in President Trump’s side.”

She thinks he'll be a great candidate to run against Trump in 2020.

It would appear your memory pretty much matches mine. No presidential candidate has ever gotten the amount of nonstop free publicity that Trump got. He could call into any news show whenever he liked and suck all the oxygen out of the room. More often, than not, it was Morning Fucking Joe!

Eventually people like Mika and Joe saw the error of their ways and the nightmare that followed, but I have little doubt that they would do it all over again if given the chance. Now Mika is kissing up to Mitt and Anne, who had little trouble kissing up to Donald Trump when it served Mitt's ambitions. Mitt Romney has no real convictions, philosophy, or political agenda - he just wants to be president and will do or say whatever he thinks will get him into the White House.

After two nightmarish years of Trump, I didn't realize that Mitt Romney could still piss me off. Just because Trump is the absolute worst, does not make Romney any better than he was in 2012.
