Through Facebook, which I generally abhor, I'm in contact with a man I went through primary and secondary education with. We were close friends back then but haven't seen one another in 40 years. He's become a RWNJ but I don't engage with him in politics, only in our mutual love of music.

His political screeds are fascinating to me. His descent into Fascism is blatant and his hatred of Democrats is potent. He'll frequently post pictures of Hillary Clinton with snarky captions. Why? I don't know since she "lost" the election and is out of power. Additionally, to him, all Democrats are Communists. You get the type.

The other day, his thread was based on a picture of Melania in black leather pants and a dark jacket. He and his cohorts- both male and female- were raving about what a beautiful First Lady we *finally* have in the White House! It's an interesting insight into the viewpoints of the opposition.

At a crucial point in our teenage years, this fellow saved me from what could have been a devastating embarrassment and I've been grateful ever since. Nonetheless, it's very strange to see how our paths have diverged 180º since those many years ago.

In comments from the local yahoos in my hometown newspaper after the Orange Disaster was first elected in regards to “We finally have a Beautiful and Classy First Lady that we can be proud of”

Like Michelle Obama was some sort of ogre! Their disgusting partisanship is truly mind boggling

And, as a mom, I only have to say that she is as big a narcissist as her old man, I would never crop my own kid’s image out of a photo like that. Of course the press loves to paint her as some kind of dedicated, loving, mother. Give me a break!
