And they don't deserve to be in power, as the minority who is represented by a scumbag who colluded with a foreign adversary to take the presidency and who relied on undemocratic gerrymandering to take Congress.

Yes, he has the Senate. But that WILL change in 2020, regardless of whether he's still around.

And the House Republicans got their asses handed to them in this election. Forty new Democratic seats in the House.

It's just a taste of what's in store for them in November 2020.

The two biggest, and predominantly Democratic, states are allotted only 2 votes each, same as Wyoming and Idaho, who have less people that L.A.'s suburbs.

It doesn't seem fair that Wyoming should have as much sway as California in the Senate, but that's the way it was set up. States were concerned that they would be lost in the shuffle if representation was based on population only.

The only problem with our current system is that it allows for foreign governments to buy and/or blackmail our elected representatives to do their bidding. Our government would work fine if we didn't have a bunch of kompromat-compromised shitheels at the wheel.

who got shown the door last week,do change their affiliation to the Democratic party.

Party affiliation varies so darn much with Government Employees. All depends on the State. Worked a Campaign in 2012 in a very Red State. From the Voter Rolls that we had to work with. In our District the Governmental Employees were north of three quarters registered Rethugs.

Again proving Trump is a complete Liar.

I don’t often engage in political conversations with strangers in bars, restaurants etc.

But on the few occasions I do and commit to trumpers than I am a member of the Democratic Party(I normally identify as a Social Democrat) the first reaction is always the same: utter surprise.

They do not know how to react when a fairly large, white middle aged Southern man, often wearing boots, self identifies as a Democrat. It is especially good if I am wearing my cammo jacket!

Political conversation usually ends.

Except the teacher in Peanuts cartoons seemed to interact with the characters. We just couldn't hear what she said.

With Trump, it doesn't matter what he says. He never says anything.

and are content to go without pay until Trump gets his way. Someone brought it to his attention that this wasn't selling well, and (ahem) most people can't just borrow money from their wealthy dads, so he changed the story without blinking an eye from

Federal workers want the wall and are willing to have the shutdown last as long as possible to get it

to

They're mostly Democrats

The latter statement may indeed have racial overtones, which means that racists won't care if some non-white people go without money, starting right before Christmas. Like they didn't care about those brown children who died in ICE custody. If those had been white children, Trump would have been down there himself with every TV camera he could find.

Horrible as that all is, isn't it illegal for a US president to punish his/her enemies? Or is that just another norm that's being trampled?

He has said repeatedly, Democrats are against the wall. Yesterday he said that federal employees who are not getting paid have told him to hold out for his wall. Today he's saying most of the federal employees are Democrats. HUH?????? Are they the ones supposedly contacting him to say they'll go without pay because he should get his wall????? But they're Democrats - according to today's lies - and are supposed to be against it. Don's definitely a racist, but I don't think he's bright enough to send such a subdued dog whistle to his dimwitted followers.
