The right-wing "prophesies" that never happened this year...

I noticed that these "prophets" are like almost all other would-be prophets, when they are dead wrong, they refuse to admit it.

2018: The Year in False Prophesies and Failed Predictions
By Kyle Mantyla | December 26, 2018 10:09 am

2018 was a year in which right-wing pundits and self-proclaimed “prophets” made a variety of predictions and proclamations that never came true. Here is a look back at some of the most egregious blunders of the year.

The "it really did happen but the evidence is being suppressed" thing is MONUMENTALLY stupid, and oh so lazy and convenient.

What a bunch of fakes.

But you've heard echoes of their perorations, sometimes faintly, in the background of the discourse. You kind of have to listen for it, because unlike their heroes, the audience for these knuckleheads is circumspect about repeating the hogwash they hear. When these charlatans stumble across an actual event that sort of happens, then the audience gets louder. Of course, they're not right or even close to right very often, which is why they make such a big deal about a hurricane veering in one direction or another as hurricanes do, claiming a natural event as vindication for their ramblings.

My standing advice for anyone who has someone who listens to these people in their lives is to write down their "prophesy," get a date for when it's supposed to come true (next Wednesday, within six months, no more than a year from now, or whenever), and have them initial it. Force them to provide the details, and when it doesn't happen, fold the paper with the prediction on it six ways and tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine. After you've done this a few times, they'll either have their eye opened, or they'll know better than to talk to you about this. Either way, it's winner, winner, chicken dinner.

All anyone has to do is look at Jeane Dixon.

Her "prediction" of JFK's killing was a halfassed guess, and she got the President and the date dead wrong.

Afterwards, she made many "predictions," and those that weren't really vague or really obvious, she was 100% wrong.

BUT...

She is still hailed as a "prophet."

As is the pink-haired ditz in the article, and the rest.
