4. I am going to see the Spiderverse movie today. Maybe even the Aquaman one, too. I have invitations

to spend time with friends and have dinner with them for Christmas, but I am simply exhausted from the semester, and all I want is a chance to veg out and to do the things I have no time to do while school is still in session.

I am catching the 12:55 matinee for the movie, so if I feel I want to see the other one, too, I could still do it. I love movies but seldom have time to see them, even on TV with Netflix and HBO. If I catch a free minute I always use it to read or to sleep.

I spend most of my time grading essays or having conferences with students, because the best way to teach writing is by extensive coaching, both in comments on papers and in face-to-face tutoring. It is time and labor intensive, but my students do significantly improve their writing, so it is worth it--though by the end of the semester I am totally drained.

So to the movies it is for me today.
