China imports zero U.S. soybeans in November for first time since trade war started

DECEMBER 24, 2018 / 3:37 AM / UPDATED 4 HOURS AGO

BEIJING (Reuters) - China’s soybean imports from the United States plunged to zero in November, marking the first time since the trade war between the world’s two largest economies started that China, the world’s largest soybean buyer, has imported no U.S. supplies.

Instead, China has leaned on Brazilian imports to replace the U.S. cargoes, customs data showed on Monday.

China brought in 5.07 million tonnes of soybeans from Brazil in November, up more than 80 percent from 2.76 million tonnes a year ago, data from the General Administration of Customs showed.

Meanwhile, U.S. imports plunged from 4.7 million tonnes in November 2017 and were down from 67,000 tonnes in October.

Billions for a stupid wall, or billions in farm bailouts needed because of a stupid trade war?

Are we winning yet?

After trusting and voting for trump. Many more trump supporters will be getting hurt from his and republican policies. Maybe they will learn from their mistakes. They've already taken just under 2 trillion out of Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, and they want to take more away from everyone getting any of those programs. They've robbed millions from their health care plans, and promoted those trash can policies again instead. Now we see jobs leaving at higher levels and more will announce their leaving because of not being able to trust trump. Th trump slump will hurt all his supporters the most , and many haven't a clue.

The Chinese will never come back as they once were.

Insane Trump was shown the world that the USA cannot be trusted ever again.

Oh well, Trump's GOP partners in Big Ag will buy up all the bankrupt farms for pennies and laugh all the way to the bank!

MAGA SUCKERS!

that is suppose to be in process. From what was mentioned in the Star and Trib,it is brokered by Cargill,ADM,and Central Harvest States, and filled in the Minnesota,Iowa,South Dakota Elevator network. And the Beans will ship out of the West Coast ports. Sale price was to be 9.68 and that might include 1.68 of subsidy .

Can not find any info as to if this was a rerouted Brazil or Argentine order. Did learn the bulk of the order will go BNSF.
