General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWill Glenn GreenWald, Matt Taibbi, and Jill Stein finally come out and admiit they were wrong about
a Russian connection? That this was NOT an example of McCarthyism, mass hysteria speculation about Russian involvement, or a red herring?
Matt Taibbi's argument was that because we were lied to about the WMDs in Iraq. that implies the Russian involvement must not be true. The two events not only have nothing to do with each other, the agencies and people involved in those different events were not the same.

I am not going to hold my breath, but it would be refreshing to see if at least the journalists in that group admitted an error in their initial analysis of the situation

(58,785 posts)everyone else is. They are the wise ones. Thomas Jefferson felt strongly that completely ignoring their counterparts who flocked to power in his day was the only sensible way to handle the problem. The Kremlin of course puts their dysfunction to use and I suspect finds most pretty easy pickings.

(92,372 posts)only one who would admit a error, and might have already. As for Stein and Greenwald, absolutely not. Geenwald's ego, and know it all attitude absolutely shock me if he did. He is a grandstander

Here's a picture of the head table-- Stein and Michael Flynn, Putin, Dmitry Peskov.
I don't know why anyone would believe Jill Stein about Russia.

I like Matt Taibbis writing. I dont always agree but it provides a differing POV. I will give him credit for his coverage of the 2008 financial catastrophe. Griftopia & The Divide- American Injustice in the Age of the Wealth Gap are good reads, frustrating due to the subject but good reads. Plus his very apt Vampire Squid description of Goldman Sach is beautiful and one I will never forget.

Two of the three werent necessarily wrong, they were lying to idiots.
Sorry for using such a harsh tone. The Green Party I once loved(never voted for a GP candidate) is dead and Greenwald abuses his responsibility after becoming famous off the back of others.

(19,567 posts)I, also, think he hopes to re-emerge as a contrite white Knight at this moment. That is, until he thinks he has another angle to sell. Trust me, he'll find one. He's a career building person. I know them, and he's looking constantly for his next sensation to sell. This is based on my readings of him, but I admit my eye has been jaundiced. As such, YMMV.
The other two are locked in at the moment in their paychecks, which are based on extremists and foreign entities and as they say, follow the money.
