(9,709 posts)at all. She interrupts a lot and gets snippy if she feels the guest is making a better point than she is. Where is Ari?

(43,499 posts)Yasmin is super common globally and her surname Vossoughian is Iranian. Your real life name would probably be 'odd' in Tehran.

(25,583 posts)Cohen had a Come To Jesus Moment.
As a fellow Jew I am offended. Im not happy that Cohen is Jewish, but thats just not right. Sorry. We dont do that.

(11,645 posts)"Come to Jesus moment" is not a reference to Cohen's religious beliefs its common slang meaning he's suddenly acquired a conscience perhaps out of sheer pragmatic necessity.

Ive admired you for years. Im happy to continue to do so.

(31,261 posts)I think that the way the term is used does not have a ethnic-religious orientation. Seeing the Light is another term that some may take as religious based, but is used frequently to describe previously clueless people getting a clue.

(31,261 posts)True Christianity came about after his death, driven by Paul the Baptist.
The history of organized religion is sort of facinating to study if a person avoids the dogma aspects. The idea of a savior and crucifixion was around thousands of years before Jesus, Christians copied that. Paul the Baptist (Paul of Tarsus) was from the religion that immediately preceded Christianity and had a savior, a crucifixion and a resurrection, and an ascent to heaven as part of it's dogma.

(160,621 posts)I think she is outstanding. She treats the job respectfully, acts professional in a way most show hosts just can't manage. Most of them seem to imagine you are there just to adore them.
So glad you mentioned your opinion. As one poster already mentioned, she's far better than Chuck Todd. She has so much more presence, and seems far more intelligence. She doesn't mug, and act cute, or make knowing looks, or seem in love with herself. About time! I've been pining for the days who treat their careers with respect, and their audiences.
Thank you.

(2,679 posts)I get up early and Yasmin Vossoughian, Ayman Mohyeldin, and Louis Burgdorf host First Look on msnbc, 5am. Yasmin and Ayman are perfect in the morning. Over the weekend both, Yasmin and Ayman, also get some of that msnbc live time.
Yasmin just returned from maternity leave.

(24,396 posts)Lets face it, the stars who get their own hour-long shows on MSNBC tend toward displaying a TV personality. There are only a handful who somehow stay out of the way of the news theyre reporting.

Just seemed like a news reader to me; nothing I didn't already know, nothing particularly insightful.
