House GOP may try vote on $5B for Trump border wall

House Republican leaders are contemplating bringing legislation to the floor that would provide the $5 billion President Trump is demanding for a wall on the Mexican border, even though it is far from clear they can win 218 Republican votes for the legislation.

The idea is being considered in the wake of a White House meeting where Trump said he would not blame Democrats for a shutdown over the $5 billion demand, and that he would be glad to take "the mantle" of responsibility.

That event stunned some Republicans, who saw the president as giving away leverage in the shutdown talks. Congress has until December 21 to fund parts of the government and prevent a partial shutdown.

A GOP leadership aide said plans and timing are still in flux, but that bringing a bill with $5 billion in funding to the floor is an option that is being discussed.

I'd laugh myself silly if the vote failed especially after "Shit for Brains" has tried to blame the Democrats.

9. Democrats really should be saying that every time the subject is brought up.

The very idea of this wall is absurd and Democrats shouldn't engage beyond saying, "Get Mexico to pay for it like you promised. Now, let's talk about serious matters."

Let's see, Pelosi told Trump in so many words, right to his face, that this wouldn't pass the House. Trump bragged that he could win a vote in the House, apparently because Pelosi doesn't know how to count goodly like Deadbeat Donny does. Pelosi told him to go right ahead if he thought he was right. And now the House Republicans are thinking about testing out whether Nancy Pelosi or Donald Trump is better at counting votes in the House.
