On the subject of trade, particularly with China, will there be much difference between Bernie and Trump? Indeed, wouldn't Bernie be even more aggressive than Trump in threatening to impose tariffs and stifle trade between the two countries?

China has been a favorite American political punching bag for years. But not since Trump took the White House has campaign rhetoric turned into action. A Democratic leader, Bernie Sanders, has opposed numerous trade deals and blamed China for the disappearing middle class.
Lets be clear: one of the major reasons that the middle class in America is disappearing, poverty is increasing and the gap between the rich and everyone else is growing wider and wider is due to our disastrous unfettered free trade policy," Sanders says.
I want to see the people in China live in a democratic society with a higher standard of living. I want to see that, but I dont think that has to take place at the expense of the American worker, Sanders has said. I dont think decent-paying jobs in this country have got to be lost as companies shut down here and move to China. I want to see the Chinese people do as well, but I do not want to see the collapse of the American middle class take place, and I will fight against that as hard as I can.
Sanders is considered the front-runner to challenge Trump in 2020 at this time.

It's messed up, though. Isn't it? I think I have 2016 PTSD. Just thinking about another election season of that gives me a panic attack. It's like Groundhog's Day.
I've been thinking I might go over to ATA and ask about it, or make some suggestions for new 2020 rules. I just can't...., um, go through it again. I can't.

But for now.. & Beto's not even running yet..
Former Vice President Joe Biden is the most popular Democrat in the potential 2020 primary, with 28 percent of Democratic and independent voters saying theyd most likely vote for him, according to the poll released on Monday.

Either one of them would be exponentially better than BS.

(25,668 posts)AP referred to him as a front-runner or one of the front-runners. Google produces other headlines: "Bernie Sanders 'front-runner' for 2020 nomination" "Bernie Sanders is already a front-runner for the Democrats" "Bernie Sanders is the Democrats' real 2020 front-runner."

(30,773 posts)It calls him the front runner in two places, with nothing to back it up.
