PoliticoMANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. Stacey Abrams said Monday that she is considering running for a Georgia Senate seat in 2020 or governor again in 2022 and possibly even for president.
Abrams drew national attention in her bid to become the first black woman governor in the United States, and the progressive political action committee Democracy for America included her in a presidential poll it opened online last week.
But Abrams has largely circulated under the 2020 radar, even as another failed statewide candidate, Texas Rep. Beto ORourke, draws intense interest from donors and Democratic activists.
Asked if she is considering a presidential campaign, Abrams said, No I havent thought about it.
She stopped short of ruling out a campaign, however, saying, I am open to all options, and its too soon after the election to know exactly what Im going to do.

Personally, I think losing candidates are far better off spending their time focusing on issues and rebuilding their public message, rather than immediately announcing the next thing they're going to run for.

(2,517 posts)1. Hoping she stays a public 'thorn in the side' of B Kemp
Her lawsuit regarding the voting irregularities will certainly help her keep a public profile, but GA has not had someone in a while that is a constant and reasoned opposition voice.
Would love to see her consider a viable challenge against David Perdue's seat.

for her to stay on the radar, also Gillum and Beto should stay on that radar too.

I'm Abrams supporter. I'm always happy to hear from her.
