How will Trump explain his "Big Lie" about Russia to his supporters?

Of course, he will say that Hillary did much worse.

And that he was a businessman looking for opportunity all around the world. But that he pulled out of the Moscow Tower deal because it wouldn't look right, with him running for President.

But, he did nothing wrong. He had every right to continue his business operations while running for the White House. It is all "fake news". They want to tear down all the great things he has accomplished.

However, he will never say why he felt he had to lie about doing business with Russia.

He will never say that people lie when they have something to hide.

Forget about that 35%, they are not redeemable. When they proudly wear tee shirts that say they would rather be with Russia than with Democrats, that sums it up. In 2 words, Fuck them.

This is not just a "legal" investigation. It is just as much about public relations and persuasion. No verdict can be reached without a certain consensus of the people. No conviction can be reached in an impeachment trial if no Republicans believe the case to be credible.

9. IMO the true deplorables won't care. Fringe voters will.

TrumpCo violated their moral foundations of authority, loyalty and truth. This will resonate with people who didn't necessarily vote for Trump as much as they voted against Hillary Clinton.

There are more fringe voters than deplorables, and that is good.

told his supporters his latest big lie. His pursuit of a Trump Tower in Moscow was legal and cool, but he decided the country needed him, so he ran for president.

His ardent supporters will believe anything, except for their own eyes of course.

They’ll ignore and they’ll deflect.
They’ll cover emojis and hamburgers and attack Hillary. That’s how propaganda works.

See, its fine, he's a stable genius, move along, no collusion here...

Oh, I get it! I am a very good developer, happily living my life, when I see our Country going in the wrong direction (to put it mildly). Against all odds, I decide to run for President & continue to run my business-very legal & very cool, talked about it on the campaign trail...

Something like "I have no business interests in Russia" is not the same as saying "I have never had any business interests in Russia". He could have had them a week earlier... I wonder how the time frame of his statements line up against the new timeline.

I admit I read only one thread but there's a limit to my zeal for investigating that place.

Most of the posts focused on how, as a candidate in 2016, Trump had no legal restrictions on business dealings with Russia. They preferred to emphasize that what he did was legal and to slide over the lying about it. When they did get more specific about Cohen's plea (which arose from his false testimony), they said that Cohen was clearly a liar and therefore no one should pay attention to anything he says about Trump. There were also intimations that Cohen's testimony favorable to Trump was truthful (despite the clear evidence to the contrary) and that anything he says that's unfavorable to Trump is what Mueller forced him to say; Mueller is suborning perjury to get Trump and Mueller found in Cohen an unprincipled weasel who would lie to save his own skin.

If Trump DID shoot someone on Fifth Avenue, I think those people would say that the victim had it coming.
