They are ruthless: PA drops plans for 2 online initiatives to boost voting

http://articles.philly.com/2012-08-16/news/33233687_1_absentee-ballot-absentee-ballots-new-voter-identification-law

August 16, 2012|By Amy Worden, INQUIRER HARRISBURG BUREAU

HARRISBURG - On the same day a judge cleared the way for the state's new voter identification law to take effect, the Corbett administration abandoned plans to allow voters to apply online for absentee ballots for the November election and to register online to vote.

A spokesman for the Department of State said county elections officials told the agency that implementing the new online initiatives as well as voter ID requirements was too much to handle less than three months before the election.

But Stephanie Singer, the top elections official in Philadelphia, said she was unaware that there was an issue with setting up a system to allow voters to register and apply for absentee ballots online, and said shifting more activity online would actually make for less paperwork.

I wish we could rid of that SOB.
I just can't believe this is happening in Pennsylvania and there doesn't seem to be any way to stop them.

Online = unmanned = not resource intensive.

More corruption out of Corbett's office. Color me shocked.

Obama has an extremely difficult time getting to 270 without at least one of those states.

in the city of Philadelphia because they were completely unprepared for the massive amount of requests and were weeks behind getting them out in time (at least by mail). The alternate was to come in person (I think to City Hall) to get one and that was during certain hours.

This is what happens when you have almost 60% of your registered voters sitting out that 2010 election when Cretin Corbutt got elected.

Son of a bitch.

Don't have to say anymore on the ethics of that rat bastard, nothing.

He's got some kind of karma coming to him. Hope he's prepared.

Ironically, the media here has been badgering him unmercifully, so I expect some of them are doing all sorts of digging and might be waiting to pounce on him when he's up for re-election in 2014 (or just before).

It'd be much easier to tie in that corruption with his voter suppression, perhaps making him back off.
