Insanity in the WAPO. Needs some DU 'love' in the comments...

First, the SPLC is pretty clear that shooting people is WRONG. Second, the shooter was not in the employ of the SPLC! Third, calling out prejudice is what we should be doing. I have my own issues with the SPLC, but they are irrelevant with regard to this horrible shooting, which we can all condemn.
They have been riding this false equivalency claim forever. I'll believe that "the left gets away with it" when Crisis Pregnancy Centers get bombed, when Catholic Bishops get killed in their places of worship, country clubs get vandalized, and heterosexuals are prohibited from divorce - while "the left" gets away with saying that they're the real victims...

(10,115 posts)If she is saying the media is ignoring the story, she is being selective in choosing how the media is covering the story. If she thinks the media should falsely accuse an organization of something when they have no history of violence and have already condemned the actions, then it appears she may have another agenda at foot here.

(19,497 posts)was either to unwittingly incite or incite in such a way as to claim plausible deniability?
What's really ironic (or maybe hypocritical) is that those who sling around the stochastic terrorism term are really saying they want Persons X, Y and Z hauled off the street and arrested if not outright jailed.
Even more ironic (and decidedly hypocritical) is some of them have that idiotic V for Vendetta mask for an avatar. Brilliant! Let's idolize a romanticized image of a religious-political terrorist while condemning free speech in a pluralistic society!

(19,497 posts)As it is impolite (and against the rules) to name names I'll have to refer you to using the DU-Google search but these posts are easy enough to find. The posters found an article at DailyKos and they've latched on to it with the tenacity of a bulldog on bacon.
Plenty of other posters (not I) have warned against making such blandishments sensing that an event such as this week's shooting at the FRC was only a statistical matter of time but those Cassandras were ignored if not outright vilified.
