Whoa.He had better hope Mueller doesn't have something that contradicts these denials or that's all she wrote.

CNN Exclusive: President Trump told Mueller in writing that Roger Stone did not tell him about WikiLeaks, nor was he told about the 2016 Trump Tower meeting between his son, campaign officials and a Russian lawyer promising dirt on Hillary Clinton https://cnn.it/2Qo9ZRT

(149,720 posts)Mueller certainly knows the true answers and these aren't those.
The fallout should be interesting.

(82,849 posts)One of his bankruptcy cases, Trump's lawyers were deposed and testified that they adopted the practice of sending two lawyers to every meeting with Trump because he was so untrustworthy, and they needed two people to verify what he said. I don't think Trump has gotten more truthful in the meantime. Let's see if Trump is as good as his (written) word.

(22,053 posts)Junior made a phone call immediately after the Trump Tower meeting to a phone number that was blocked. Trump is known to have had a blocked number.
How believable is it that Junior wouldn't call Daddy right after the meeting?
The dots are connecting.

(17,060 posts)was his father right? So IF he stated no then Bingo (perjury). Did Jr. deny this? If he did,i did not hear this.
PJMcK
(22,053 posts)Junior did testify before a Congressional committee where he claimed he didn't remember who he called after the Trump Tower meeting, (the blocked number).

(17,060 posts)So he wasn't asked a direct question if it possibly be his father right?

Well Robert Mueller is better than a good prosecutor, he is effin amazing!

(9,181 posts)Stone has been interviewed by Mueller, whereas Jr. has not.
I doubt Stone implicated Trump, or said that Trump had knowledge of Wikileaks or the Tower meeting.
I think this info, about how Trump answered these two questions, was leaked by Trump's team to get Donny Jr. "in line" should he ever have answer those questions. Trump's lawyer's have to assume that Jr.'s phone and email are tapped.
Leaking the "correct" answers to these questions to the media may have been the only way to signal him how to answer without getting caught in a conspiracy to cover up the collusion.

He didn't know who he called? Or did he just not inherit his father's genius level intellect and can't remember?
Of course, any of these answers are shitty lies. He knows he called daddy.

(42,770 posts)It was about something else though right? I mean he could just say he invited him over for dinner. From what I understand people don't know exactly what time the meeting occurred? Like they know when the call occurred but they don't know what time the meeting did. Ergo, it could be before or after.

(42,770 posts)Knows. But you r right. If they have phone records and interview respondents
LudwigPastorius
(9,181 posts)I doubt it. But, after Trump realized that Mueller asked Manafort questions he already knew the answer to, he freaked out and wants someone to back up his written responses (which are probably lies).
As you say, there are phone records and emails. Don Jr. is going down for conspiracy, and Trump will remain an unindicted co-conspirator until he is out of office.

We all know trump is lying, it seems like trump doesn't realize we all know he's lying, or he simply just does not care.

Rule of law and the Constitution means nothing to any of them.
The only thing of importance is protecting the party by denying any Trump scandal that is exposed.
There's no way Trump will be held accountable for anything until after he leaves the presidency in 2020.
I can appreciate the exposés but I have no faith they will do anything to decrease Trump's power.
