Wouldn't it be nice if 24 hour news channels actually covered news that happened on weekends?

There is major news happening at the border right now and CNN is showing a re-run of an Anthony Bourdain cooking show and MSNBC is showing a documentary about Michelle Obama.

Breathless 24/7 Breaking News Infotainment Channels. Reporting on the weekends would require a larger investment in staffing and that would affect the bottom line.

It is great that there are sources online who are actually on the scene capturing what is happening.

And that’s why I rarely if ever bother with the so called news channels.

While I do feel that there has been a measurable (albeit long overdue) change in tenor and tone regarding the self-awareness and accountability of the fourth estate as regards their civic duty, I do believe they all still fall far short of anything resembling the guardian's of democracy they keep braying about when decried as "fake news" by the Orange One.

In short: They sure are proud of themselves for being so fucking inept.

Consider that, other than the video of the ships colliding, there isn't new news to report.

That announcement seems to have been made public a few hours ago.

I'd be interested to learn more details with respect to the views of the different UNSC members and how this might all play out.

If you are going Tobe a news network, report the news, just the news, just the facts.

If you throw an opinion piece in there, label it as such.
No sensationalism and no human interest or dramas.

Although, I guess, it's fair to say that CNN is different now than it used to be.

Perhaps another network can emerge that will be more along the lines of what you describe
