Daniel Richman, a Columbia Law School professor, and NAFUSA member David Kelley, a former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York (2003-2005), are also on Comeys legal team, according to a Comey associate.

(6,916 posts)GOP is planning to defy House Democrats subpoenas starting in January.
Theyre trying to get someone high profile to defy their subpoena, so the rightwing media has a tiny nub to turn into a caravan/Benghazi-like propaganda campaign to help Republicans defy subpoenas in a few months.
The real problem is the rightwing propaganda media which is willing to lie endlessly.
But this is a Machiavellian move by the GOP.

Comey squashed that trick by not only saying "yes" but wanting the whole thing to be broadcast.

(31,261 posts)Comey has agreed to appear before a televised hearing. Democrats and Comey can ask republicans what they have to hide. I think Comey's tweet has set the table.
Democrats can still issue summons and offer televised hearings. I don't think a guilty person wants a televised hearing.

Why is it that so many on the Republican side look like sleaze?
