Trey Gowdy to White House: Hand over Ivanka Trump email information!

The chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform demanded the data in a Tuesday letter that sets a Dec. 5 deadline for response and seeks continuous notifications until the documents have been furnished, according to The Hill.

“The Committee must assess whether the White House took adequate steps to archive Ms. Trump’s emails and prevent a recurrence,” wrote Gowdy in a letter to White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Gowdy requested Kelly provide the Ivanka messages on the basis that using that email “implicates the Presidential Records Act and other security and record-keeping requirements.”

Gowdy, the four-term South Carolina congressman, did not run for reelection in November and plans to resume his legal career in 2019.
